DRESS CODE
JAZZ TECHNIQUE + MUSICAL THEATRE
Jazz and musical theatre attire generally consists of comfortable and form fitting clothing. Footwear are soft leather jazz shoes which can be purchased from most dance wear stores. Students aged twelve years and under are encouraged to wear camel coloured jazz shoes and students above twelve years of age are encouraged to wear black jazz shoes.
TAP
In tap classes students can wear form fitting and comfortable clothing. Students aged twelve years and under are encouraged to wear camel coloured tap shoes and students above twelve years of age are encouraged to wear black tap shoes.
CONTEMPORARY + IMProVISATION + ACROBATIC
Dance clothes for contemporary, improvisation and acrobatics should be comfortable and form fitting. Students can wear bare feet for these classes.
HIP HOP + STRETCH AND STRENGTH + ADULT
For these classes students have the freedom to wear more loose fitting clothes and can wear sneaker shoes. Hair is to be tied back.
SINGING + ACTING
Students are encouraged to wear clothes that are comfortable and that they can freely move in.
BALLET
In ballet classes students are able to wear free choice of ballet clothing however they are encouraged to wear the required uniform for their specific ballet grade (see information below). The hairstyle for girls is a neat bun and for boys hair is to be brushed back neatly. Boys are encouraged to wear a white leotard shirt or white T-shirt with black or navy tights and white or black ballet shoes.
The below information details the attire of what is required of students to wear for their annual Royal Academy of Dance ballet examination. This information is provided so students can wear the attire in both classes and in their examinations.
